It creeps in slowly in the dark of night, and once inside, it almost never goes away. I've heard a lot about this over the last few years and even last winter I heard it here in these old mountains of mine. I haven't heard it since though.

This is so weird, I've heard it too! There are bunches of videos on youtube about it. Weird booming sounds too.
