Connecting to the Akashic Records
....
The Akashic Records refer to the matrix of consciousness programs that create our reality
within that hologram. One could look upon it as a library of light wherein one can access all
information.
The Akashic records (Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning "sky", "space" or "aether") are
collectively understood to be a collection of mystical knowledge that is encoded in the aether;
i.e. on a non-physical plane of existence. The concept is prevalent in New Age discourse.
The Akashic Records are understood to have existed since the beginning of The Creation and
even before. Just as we have various specialty libraries (e.g., medical, law), there are said to
exist various Akashic Records (e.g., human, animal, plant, mineral, etc) encoding Universal
lore. Most writings refer to the Akashic Records in the area of human experience but it is
understood that all phenomenal experience as well as transcendental knowledge is encoded
therein.
...
History of Akashic Records
Those who champion the truth of the Akashic Records assert that they were accessed by
ancient people of various cultures, including the Indians, Moors, Tibetans, Bonpo and other
peoples of the Himalaya, Egyptians, Persians, Chaldeans, Greeks, Chinese, Hebrews,
Christians, Druids and Mayans. It is held that the ancient Indian sages of the Himalayas knew
that each soul, jiva, atma, or entity recorded every moment of its existence in a "book", and
that if one attuned oneself properly then one could access that book (refer mindstream for
example).
Nostradamus <http://www.crystalinks.com/nostradamus.html> claimed to have gained access
to the Akasha, using methods derived from the Greek oracles, Christian and Sufi mysticism,
and the Kabbalah. Other individuals who claim to have consciously used the Akashic Records
include: Charles Webster Leadbeater, Annie Besant, Alice Bailey, Samael Aun Weor, William
Lilly, Manly P. Hall, Lilian Treemont, Dion Fortune, George Hunt Williamson, Rudolf Steiner,
Max Heindel and Edgar Cayce amongst others.
A Chinese man named Sujujin was reported to need only the first name of anyone to access
the Akasha and describe their life history. Another Chinese seer, named Tajao, explored a
variety of topics in the Records which span over two thousand years.
In Surat Shabda Yoga cosmology, the Akashic Records would be located within the causal
plane of Trikuti.

* 1
Formulate a question to which you would like to know the answer. It can be a question
about yourself or someone else. It can be about something that happened in the past, is going
on in the present or something you'd like to know about the future.
Some examples of questions you might ask include: What will my life be like if I marry
my boyfriend or girlfriend? Is this new job opportunity a good fit for my life right now? Did I have
any past lives? What is my soul trying to accomplish in this life? Save this question for use
later in your meditation.
* 2
Sit comfortably in a quiet room where you will not be disturbed. Put a blanket over
your shoulders if you think you might get cold. It's important to be as comfortable as possible
while sitting in an upright position. Put your feet flat on the floor, or sit with your legs
crisscrossed if that makes you feel more relaxed, but either way, make sure your spine is kept
straight. This helps to ensure a calm alertness as opposed to just slouching in a chair and
falling asleep.
* 3
Become aware of your breath. Just breathe in and out normally while placing your attention on
your breathing. If you find your thoughts drifting to other things, bring your attention back to
your breath. The key here is to clear your mind of the stream of thoughts that we tend to
entertain. If you find that your mind is awash with thoughts, simply acknowledge each one and
let it pass. Keep focused on your breath. It might be helpful to say something in your mind like,
"I'm breathing in, I'm breathing out" as you breathe. This may help keep other thoughts at bay.
* 4
Visualize yourself walking through a forest. Use your imagination to give the forest as many
details as you can, such as what you see, hear, feel and smell in the woods. In your
visualization, come to a large ancient tree such as a giant redwood. The tree has a door on it
that you open and enter into a long dimly lit hallway. At the end of the hallway lies another
door. Knock on it three times and it will open. You come face to face with a guide that will tell
you whatever you want to know from the Akashic records.
* 5
Mentally ask the guide the question you prepared in step one. You may find you are getting
answers on your first try, or you may find that you need to practice this meditation daily until
you begin to receive the answers you are looking for. Let the answers come to you without
forcing them. Remain present in the visualization and keep your mind clear.
Tips & Warnings
Accessing the Akashic records is more of an art than a science. It takes time, patience
and lots of practice.
You can create your own unique visualizations that put you into a deep meditative state.
Different visualizations work for different people.
Another method of accessing the records is to keep repeating your question over and over
as you fall asleep. This may allow you to access the records and find the answer in a dream.
